The 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) was held on the 18th of May 2023 with an ‘opening night and cultural day event’.
The glamorous event took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre and Federal Palace Hotel Lagos state. The event was one that celebrated true culture and diversity.
The venue hosted all the attendees in their various splendid cultural attires, depicting the African culture and the glamour of film awards.
According to the Executive Head of Content and West African Channels at MultiChoice Nigeria,the 2023 AMVCA award is centered on raising the standard when it comes to acknowledging and gratifying in the various aspects of the African film and television Industry.
The ‘Opening night and cultural day event’ will be followed by the ‘Runway Show and Nominee Gala’ on May 19,2023.
The winners of the runway competition stand to win an opportunity to work with Pepsi and walk away with cash prizes.
The peak of the celebration will be the award night,on the 20th of May. The 9th edition of the AMVCA will also be returning the ‘Best Online Social Content Creator’ category and will also be introducing two new categories: ‘Best Original Telenovela’ and ‘Best Unscripted Original’.
The award show will be aired live on all Africa Magic channels on the 20th of May.
