Floods and landslides triggered by heavy rain have killed at least 56 people in India and 14 in Nepal.
India’s Uttar Pradesh state recorded the highest number of deaths.
Authorities said heavy rainfall affected dozens of districts.
Several rivers have risen above danger levels.
In Nepal, landslides killed people in Baglung district.
Eleven people are also reported missing in Nepal.
Authorities warned that further flash floods remain possible as water levels continue to rise.
The extreme weather has also damaged roads, power infrastructure and communications.
