The Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, on Thursday, re-appointed his former Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mu’azu Magaji, who he earlier fired over a social media post mocking the late Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, who died of COVID-19 complications.
Ganduje appointed Magaji as the Chairman, Kano State Gas Pipeline Project Delivery and Gas Industrialisation Committee.
Magaji’s appointment letter was dated October 29, 2020, and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Research, Evaluation and Political Affairs Directorate, Office of the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Bilkisu Maimota.
The letter read in part, “Your appointment into the committee is predicated upon your professional qualification, vast experience, patriotic disposition I hope that you (will) bring these sterling qualities to bear on the assignment in line with the collective resolve to promote the overall development of the state.”
The committee is to among others, coordinate in close partnership with the NNPC, on timely implementation of the NNPC-AKK Gas Pipeline Project, as well as to liaise with the NNPC for all information, assistance and enablers required either from Kano State Government to NNPC, or from NNPC to the Kano State Government, towards the implementation of the project.
Recall that Magaji was fired on April 18 over a post on his Facebook page.
