Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested nine suspected traffic robbers.
Policemen attached to Ketu Division arrested the suspected traffic robbers on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at about 8pm along Y-Junction, by Old Tollgate, Ketu, Lagos State.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Lagos State Command, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi indicated that the suspects had attacked one Mr Adejare Adetayo and wife in the traffic at the area.
Adejobi said, police detectives on undercover operation along the area went after the hoodlums and arrested nine with their operational weapons.
The suspected traffic robbers are: Oluseyi Afolabi (19years), Adeyemo Ayomide (18years), Francis Latifa (19years) and Rilwan Raji (23years).
Others are: Ayomide Oyediran (20years), Rasheed Ibrahim (22years), Hamzat Abdullahi (19years), Musa Gbadamosi (20years) and Seun Lasisi (32years).
The police recovered two long knives and other dangerous weapons from the suspects.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, while commending the police operatives for the successful operation and arrest of the hoodlums, reassured Lagosians of adequate security and public safety within the length and breadth of the State.
He however directed that the suspects be transferred to State CID, Panti, Yaba, for proper investigation.
The statement added that, “the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Olusegun Odumosu felicitates with Lagosians, officers and men of the Command, stakeholders in the security sector and sister security agencies on the new year celebration.
“He also admonishes Lagosians to embrace peace and obey all laws of the land as the police and other security agencies in the state are ever ready to discharge their duties effectively”.
