The youth league of the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appealed to the leaders of the party in the State to give the youths opportunities to contest in the forthcoming Local Government elections in the State.
The Coordinator of the youth group, Comrade Olamide Lawal made the call at the April edition of the monthly meeting of the league, held in Abeokuta, the State capital.

Lawal also called on the leaders of the party to emulate Governor Dapo Abiodun in accommodating more youths and give them chance to occupy more political positions.
The League Coordinator insisted that the State has resilient and focused crop of youths who are determined to positively impact in the State if given the opportunity to occupy leadership positions.
He said: “We have youths in all the 20 local government areas of Ogun state who have courage, knowledge and the zeal to take this state to an enviable height.
“At our meeting, we agreed that our members that have shown interest in supporting our Governor through grassroots development should be given opportunity to showcase themselves through the forthcoming Local government administration that is about to be put in place soon.”
The Coordinator maintained that members of the league have identified the need to replicate the giant strides of Prince Dapo Abiodun at the councils.
He assured that the state would compete favourably among the Committee of states in the Federation if party leaders could allow the youths take over at the third tier of government.
The meeting was attended by all representatives from the 20 Local Government Areas of the State.
