IJEBU EAST PDP UNANIMOUSLY ELECTS ENGR. ADEBOYE PETER BADEJO AS HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY CANDIDATE FOR IJEBU EAST STATE CONSTITUENCY
CALLS FOR INCLUSIVITY AND UNITY TOWARDS THE WINNING OF 2027 ELECTION.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ijebu East Local Government Area has today, Friday 22nd May 2026, conducted a peaceful and highly successful primary election across all 11 wards of the local government, culminating in the emergence of *Engr. Adeboye Peter Badejo* as the party’s candidate for the Ijebu East State Constituency in the up coming 2027 Ogun State House of Assembly election.
Despite heavy rainfall that fell across the constituency throughout the day, PDP members turned out in large numbers at their respective ward secretariats to exercise their franchise. The massive turnout and orderly conduct of the exercise underscored the unity, discipline, and determination of the PDP family in Ijebu East to reclaim the constituency and deliver purposeful representation to the people.
Engr. Adeboye Peter Badejo, a seasoned engineer and grassroots mobilizer, was overwhelmingly endorsed by delegates and party faithfuls across the 11 wards. His emergence reflects the collective desire of the party for a candidate with proven integrity, technical competence, and a clear record of service to the people of Ijebu East.
In his acceptance remarks, Engr. Badejo thanked the party leadership, delegates, and members for their trust and reaffirmed his commitment to an issue-based campaign focused on:
1. *Infrastructure Development* – Roads, schools, and healthcare facilities that meet the needs of rural and urban communities.
2. *Youth Empowerment and Employment* – Creating opportunities through skills acquisition, entrepreneurship support, and legislative advocacy.
3. *Accountable Representation* – A transparent, accessible, and responsive office that brings the dividends of democracy closer to the people.
4. *Agricultural and Economic Revival* – Supporting farmers and local businesses to strengthen Ijebu East’s economy.
“This victory does not belong to me alone. It belongs to every PDP member in Ward 1 to Ward 11 who stood in the rain to defend the future of Ijebu East,” Engr. Badejo said. “Today, you have shown that Ijebu East is ready for tested leadership, real development, and true representation. I pledge not to betray this trust.” and also calls for inclusiveness of all stakeholders and leaders, stating that *Victory to one is victory to all.*
The Ijebu East PDP leadership commends the Electoral Committee, security agencies, and party faithfuls for ensuring a credible and peaceful process. The party now calls on all members, stakeholders, and well-meaning citizens of Ijebu East to be united behind the PDP candidate and to immediately begin mobilization for the 2027 general elections.
FINAL. RESOLUTION: The journey to reclaim Ijebu East and restore effective representation at the Ogun State House of Assembly begins now. With unity, discipline, and focus, PDP is set to deliver victory and bring governance closer to the people.
