Romania’s Parliament has rejected a proposed center-right Cabinet led by designated Prime Minister Siegfried Muresan, extending the country’s political crisis.
The proposed government received 182 votes in favour, well short of the 233 needed for approval.
Muresan’s coalition included the National Liberal Party, Save Romania Union and the ethnic Hungarian UDMR party.
The rejection leaves President Nicusor Dan facing another effort to form a government. The country has been without a stable government since a previous administration was removed earlier in the year.
Romania is also dealing with security concerns linked to the war in neighbouring Ukraine, including reported drone incursions.
