South African police are searching for suspects after 27 people were killed in two separate shootings.
Seventeen people were killed at a tavern in Wedela, west of Johannesburg.
Fifteen others were injured in that attack.
A second shooting in Lwandle, near Cape Town, killed 10 people and injured 11.
Police said the suspects in the Johannesburg-area attack were armed with assault rifles and pistols.
No arrests had been made in either case at the time of the latest reports.
Authorities are investigating the motives behind both at
tacks.
