The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on Saturday disclosed that it lost two of its officers to a road accident on Friday.

The accident occurred along the Ondo-Ore Expressway on yesterday.

The deceased were returning from Okitipupa in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state where they had gone to attend a burial ceremony.

The six-passenger space wagon bus, which conveyed the deceased and other passengers, was said to have skidded off the road and somersaulted into a ditch, killing the two officers and injuring one other passenger.

The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Okoro Eweka, disclosed this to journalists.

Eweka said it was a moment of sober reflection when the news of the demise of the two officers was broken on Friday, stressing the need to intensify prayers for the NSCDC and all security agencies in the state.

The injured was said to have been taken to the Ondo State Trauma Centre, Ondo, while the remains of the deceased were deposited at the morgue of the Ondo State General Hospital, Ondo.
