What becoming a woman has taught me – Vandora

Nigerian reality TV star Vanessa Emikhe Williams, popularly known as Vandora is well known for her public stand on issues surrounding confidence, beauty standards and self-image.

In a recent update on her Instagram page, the Big Brother Naija Season 3 Housemate shared insights on what becoming a woman has taught her.

“Becoming a woman taught me that confidence is not becoming someone else. It’s finally becoming yourself comfortably and for a long time, I thought beauty was about fitting into certain modes and matching whatever the world decided was beautiful at the time. But with time, I realised that softness, femininity and beauty look different on every woman, she said.

“We do not all have to look the same to be beautiful. I think real beauty comes from embracing who you already are, nurturing that intentionally and enhancing your own features instead of forcing yourself into trends. I’m still learning this myself, learning to be real instead of perfect,” the Edo-born star added.

Vandora has discussed past struggles with self-esteem and has argued that beauty should not be tied to complexion or external validation. Those conversations have resonated with followers who see her as more than a reality star but as a public figure navigating personal growth in the public eye.
