Air operations have resumed at Poland’s Lublin and Rzeszow airports after both facilities were temporarily closed while Polish military aircraft operated in the country’s airspace.
Poland’s Air Traffic Authority confirmed that flights had resumed on Wednesday.
The temporary measures came as Russia launched overnight strikes against Ukraine. The Polish military said it activated ground-based air-defence systems and radar surveillance as a precaution to protect Polish airspace.
Both airports are located in southeastern Poland, close to Ukraine, making them particularly relevant to Poland’s air-security measures during periods of intensified Russian attacks.
The airports reopened after the military operations in the area were completed.
